Recycleye Participates in Waste-to-Resources 2021

18 May, 2021  — Recycleye’s very own CEO, Victor Dewulf, will be speaking in the Waste-to-Resources conference this Wednesday – 19th May – to discuss how computer vision can strengthen the resilience of the waste sorting infrastructure during the pandemic!

Originally held in Germany, this year’s Waste-to-Resources event will be held virtually, marking its 9th international symposium on the circular economy, MBT, MRF and recycling sectors. Covering key topics such as the hydrogen economy, new green deal, and zero waste strategies, Recycleye’s participation will shed light on how the introduction of cutting-edge technology and total automation can provide long-term solutions to the waste industry’s ongoing challenges in light of Covid-19.

The advent of Covid-19 has only drawn greater attention to the waste management industry’s need to minimise worker interaction for both safety and cost purposes. In order to meet the European Union’s targets for material reuse, the sector needs to pivot investment towards robotic and vision automation as part of a process to decentralise MRFs in order to maintain the running of removal chains and enable a more circular economy. Victor will be delving into the current state-of-the-art identification and sorting techniques alongside recent technological developments in machine vision as a yet unexplored area of research within the waste industry.

Featuring more than 70 presentations from 25 different countries, this year’s event is one you don’t want to miss! Come along and support us tomorrow at Hall 1, Block 12 from 3:15pm CEST to discover how Recycleye’s ground-breaking research and technology is transforming waste industries across the globe.
